1. Scope

This policy applies to this It’s Not Plastic website and enquiries sent to info@itsnotplastic.ca. It does not govern a third-party site or email provider that you choose to open. CanBan Trading House Ltd. is responsible for personal information under its control.

This is an informational product website. It does not offer online checkout, take payment-card details, create customer accounts, or automatically submit the enquiry form to our server.

2. Information we receive

When you contact us

The enquiry form asks for your name, business, email, location, product interest and project description; quantity is optional. The form prepares an email draft in your email app or Gmail. You decide whether to send it. If you send it, we receive the information in your message and any later correspondence. Please do not include payment-card numbers or other sensitive information in an enquiry.

When you browse

Our hosting provider may process technical information needed to serve and protect the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security logs. We have not added an advertising pixel, analytics script, newsletter signup or first-party marketing cookie to this version of the site. Browser, email and third-party services may handle information under their own policies when you use them.

3. Why we use information

• Respond to enquiries, discuss products, samples, specifications, suitability and supply.
• Maintain business correspondence and records related to a request or transaction.
• Operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
• Meet legal obligations and protect our rights where appropriate.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use enquiry details for an unrelated marketing list without an appropriate basis and choice.

4. Providers and other sites

Vercel hosts the new website and may process technical information to deliver it. Email providers process a message when you choose to send an enquiry. We may share information with service providers that help us run the business, under appropriate safeguards, or where law requires it. Processing or storage may occur outside Canada, where local law may allow access by authorities.

Links to Gmail, Instagram or other external services take you to their sites. Their privacy practices are their own. The current Squarespace site at itsnotplastic.ca is separately hosted until migration; its privacy and technical practices may differ from this preview.

5. Retention and security

We keep enquiry correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, business records, legal requirements or dispute resolution, then delete or anonymize it where practical. Hosting and email providers may maintain their own operational logs and backup copies under their policies. We use safeguards appropriate to the information, but no website or email system is perfectly secure.

6. Your choices and rights

You can leave the enquiry form unsent, use your preferred email provider, or contact us directly. Subject to applicable law, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, withdraw consent where available, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law permits or requires it.

If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another applicable regulator.

We may update this policy when our services or practices change; the effective date above identifies this version.
